Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
