Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
