(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? 24 When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown. 25 Then he went to his home – so he brought a healthy calf. 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, 38 But he turned his back, he and his courtiers, and said, "This is a sorcerer or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
