Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 Or do they say: 'He is a poet, we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him' 30 Say (unto them): Except (your fill)! Lo! I am with you among the expectant. 31 Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds? 32 Or do they say: He has forged it. Nay! they do not believe. 33 (If they are truthful in this), then let them produce a discourse of similar splendour. 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact, they have no strong faith. 36 Or, are the treasures of your Lord in their keeping? Or, are they the controllers? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are over-burdened by debt? 40 Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him). 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from the sky they would say: 'A massed cloud' 44 Therefore leave them, until they confront their day, in which they will be stunned. 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise. 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
