Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Say thou: wait verily I am, with you, among the waiters. 31 Is it their minds that bid them [to take] this [attitude] - or are they [simply] people filled with overweening arrogance? 32 Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 Have they not been created by aught, or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and earth? Nay, but they have not sure faith. 36 Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)? 37 Or have they a ladder whereon they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Or, has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Do you (Muhammad) ask them for any payment (for your preaching) which they cannot afford? 40 Or that the Unseen in it their hands, and they write it down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Or have they an ilah (a god) other than Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him) 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 and when their evil plans will be of no benefit to them nor will they be helped. 46 And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. 47 And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise. 48 And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars. 49
