So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say: "[He is but] a poet - let us wait what time will do unto him"? 30 Say thou: wait verily I am, with you, among the waiters. 31 Is it their minds that bid them [to take] this [attitude] - or are they [simply] people filled with overweening arrogance? 32 Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it (the Quran) if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created of themselves? Or are they the creators? 35 Or have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact they are certain of nothing. 36 Are with them the treasures of thy Lord! or are they the dispensers? 37 Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask a wage from them (for your preaching of Islamic Monotheism) so that they are burdened with a load of debt? 40 Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down? 41 Or, do they desire to outwit? The unbelievers are the outwitted. 42 Or have they a god other than God? Exalted be God over what they ascribe as partners [to Him]! 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 Therefore leave them, until they confront their day, in which they will be stunned. 45 A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped. 46 But, verily, for those who are bent on doing evil, there is suffering in store [even] closer at hand than that [supreme suffering in the hereafter]: but most of them are not aware of it. 47 And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise. 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
