(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 while you make merry? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
