HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
