Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
