Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
