(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
