The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
The hour drew nigh and the moon did rend asunder. 1 And if they see a sign, they turn away, and say: "This is continuous magic." 2 And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement. 3 And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence - 4 Effective wisdom; but warnings avail not. 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading, 7 Hastening toward the summoner; the disbelievers say: This is a hard day. 8 ۞ The people of Noah cried lies before them; they cried lies to Our servant, and said, 'A man possessed!' And he was rejected. 9 Noah prayed, "Lord, help me; I am defeated". 10 Thereupon We opened the gates of the sky for water to pour down, 11 And We opened up the springs of the earth; and the waters met for a decreed end. 12 We carried him in a well built, watertight vessel made from planks (of wood) 13 That ran (upon the waters) in Our sight, as a reward for him who was rejected. 14 And We left the Ark as a Sign. Is there, then, any who will take heed? 15 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 16 We have made it easy to learn lessons from the Quran. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 17 And there belied the A'ad; so how dreadful have been My torment and warning! 18 Behold, We let loose upon them a raging storm wind on a day of bitter misfortune: 19 Tearing men away as if they were the trunks of palm-trees torn up. 20 How [dreadful] was My punishment and My warning! 21 And We have indeed made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 22
