The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
