The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
