The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Who will be honoured 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few of later ages, 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 and extended shade, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits abounding 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 and made them virgins, 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 For those on the right. 38
