The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur'an and a clear Book 1 A guidance and good tidings for believers 2 Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and are certain of the Hereafter. 3 Verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds fair-seeming to them, so they wander about blindly. 4 Such are those for whom there is an evil punishment, and in the Everlasting Life are the greatest losers. 5 As to thee, the Qur'an is bestowed upon thee from the presence of one who is wise and all-knowing. 6 (Recount to them) when Moses said to his family: "I perceive something like fire: soon will I bring to you some information from there, or I will bring you a burning brand that you may warm yourselves." 7 But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds. 8 “O Moosa, I am indeed, in truth, Allah the Almighty, the Wise.” 9 Cast down your staff' And when he saw it writhing like a serpent, he turned about retreating, and did not turn back. 'Moses, do not fear, indeed the Messengers do not fear (when they are) with Me, 10 save him who has done evil, then; after evil, has changed into good; All-forgiving am I, All-compassionate. 11 “And put your hand inside your armpit – it will come out shining white, not due to any illness; a sign among the nine signs towards Firaun and his people; they are indeed a lawless nation.” 12 But when Our light-giving messages came unto them, they said, "This is clearly [but] spellbinding deception!" 13 And they denied them, though their souls acknowledged them, for spite and arrogance. Then see the nature of the consequence for the wrong-doers! 14
