The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling, 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 The reward for what they did. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 and flowing water, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And couches raised up. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 We have made them virgins, 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38
