The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and serried acacias, 29 And shade extended 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 We have made them virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
