The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A throng of the ancients, 13 And a few of later ages, 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 and banana trees, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
