A crowd of earlier generations 39 And a company of the later peoples. 40 The Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 41 In fierce hot wind and boiling water, 42 scalding water and under a shadow of black smoke, 43 neither cool nor good. 44 Before they lived at ease, 45 and persisted in heinous sins. 46 and they used to say, "What! After we have died and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up again? 47 (We) and our fore-fathers of yore?” 48 Say: "Yea, those of old and those of later times, 49 shall all be brought together on an appointed Day. 50 Then you, the erring and the deniers, 51 "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum. 52 And filling with it your bellies 53 Then drink over it of boiling water; 54 drink it as the most insatiably thirsty camels drink!" 55 That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense! 56 We have created you: why then do you not accept the truth? 57 So what is your opinion regarding the semen you discharge? 58 Do ye create it or are We the Creator? 59 We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable, 60 In the matter of exchanging you for others, and to transform you into what you do not know. 61 And [since] you are indeed aware of the [miracle of your] coming into being in the first instance - why, then, do you not bethink yourselves [of Us]? 62 Just ponder over what you sow: 63 is it you that sow it, or are We the Sower? 64 Had We wanted, We could have crushed it to bits and you would have been left to lament, 65 (And say:) "We have fallen into debt; 66 Nay! we are deprived. 67 Have you considered the water that you drink? 68 Is it you who sent it down from the clouds or is it We who have sent it down? 69 If We willed, surely We would make it brackish. Wherefore give ye not thanks? 70 Have you thought about the fire that you kindle. 71 Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? 72 We! it is We Who made it a reminder and a provision unto the campers. 73 Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) proclaim the Purity of the name of your Lord, the Greatest. 74

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
