▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Nay, I swear by the places of the stars - 75 - which is indeed a great oath if only you knew it - 76 Behold, it is a truly noble discourse, 77 In a Book well-guarded (with Allah in the heaven i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 78 no one can touch it except the purified ones. 79 It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 So is this the matter regarding which you laze? 81 And make denial thereof your livelihood? 82 Why, then, when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 83 the while you are helplessly watching that he is on the verge of death, 84 and while We are closer to him than you, although you see [Us] not: 85 Why then, if ye are not in bondage (unto Us), 86 why are you then not able to bring them back to life if you are truthful? 87 [ALL OF YOU are destined to die.] Now if one happens to be of those who are drawn close unto God, 88 (There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights. 89 If he is of those of the right hand, 90 Then: peace unto thee, for thou art of those on the right hand. 91 But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray, 92 Then for him is entertainment with boiling water. 93 And burning in Hell-fire. 94 Indeed, this is the certain truth. 95 Then praise your Lord, the most supreme. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
