The Column (Al-Suff)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Everything in the heavens and earth glorifies God -- He is the Almighty, the Wise. 1 O ye who believe! Why say ye that which ye do not? 2 Most hateful it is with Allah that you say that which you do not do. 3 God loves those who fight for His cause in battlefield formations firm as an unbreakable concrete wall. 4 And (remember) when Moses said unto his people: O my people! Why persecute ye me, when ye well know that I am Allah's messenger unto you? So when they went astray Allah sent their hearts astray. And Allah guideth not the evil-living folk. 5 And when Jesus, son of Mary, said: "O children of Israel, I am sent to you by God to confirm the Torah (sent) before me, and to give you good tidings of an apostle who will come after me, whose name is Ahmad (the praised one)." Yet when he has come to them with clear proofs, they say: "This is only magic." 6 Who is more unjust than he who invents a lie against God when he is called to submit? God does not show the evil-doers the way. 7 Fain would they put out the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light however much the disbelievers are averse. 8 He it is who has sent forth His Apostle with [the task of] spreading guidance and the religion of truth, to the end that He make it prevail over all [false] religion, however hateful this may be to those who ascribe divinity to aught but God. 9
