Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The indubitable event! 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 In a Garden on high, 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 and had not known my account. 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
