The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and so am I: 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
