Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a lofty Garden 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 and had not known my account. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
