Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 in a lofty garden, 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Would it had been the end! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
