Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 in a lofty Garden 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
