Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 nor any food save the filth 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
