Noah (Nooh)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his people telling him, "Warn your people before a painful torment approaches them". 1 Noah said: “My people, I have certainly been sent as a clear warner to you, 2 "That ye should worship Allah, fear Him and obey me: 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day. 5 but the more I called, the farther they fled. 6 "And every time I have called to them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they have (only) thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. 7 Then I called them loudly and more openly, 8 Then I conveyed the message to them, again, both in public and in private, 9 Then I said, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Surely He is the most forgiving. 10 He will send down abundant rain from the sky for you, 11 "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water). 12 ‘What is the matter with you, that you do not desire honour from Allah?’ 13 seeing He created you by stages? 14 Do you not see how God has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 and placed therein the moon as a light and the sun as a torch. 16 And God caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 ‘And He will then take you back to it, and again remove you from it.” 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 ‘So that you may tread the wide roads in it.’” 20
