20 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Pen (Al-Qalam) before The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW)! 1 worship (God) for a few hours at night. 2 A half of it or a little less 3 and recite the Quran in a distinct tone; 4 We are about to reveal to you a mighty word. 5 Lo! the vigil of the night is (a time) when impression is more keen and speech more certain. 6 Verily there is for thee by day occupation prolonged. 7 Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Lord of the eastern and western regions, with due sincerity. 8 He is the Lord of the east and the west, there is no deity but Him, so take Him as your Guardian. 9 And bear thou patiently what they say, and forsake them graciously. 10 Leave the prosperous disbelievers to Me and give them respite for a little while; 11 for with Us there are fetters, and a furnace, 12 And food that chokes and a painful punishment - 13 On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down. 14 We have sent an Apostle to you as a witness against you, as We had sent an apostle to the Pharaoh. 15 But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger; so We seized him with a heavy Punishment. 16 If you persist in disbelieving, how will you guard yourself against the (woe of the) Day that will turn children grey-haired, 17 The heavens itself will be rent asunder (on that day). His promise is bound to be fulfilled. 18 Verily this is an admonition; let him therefore, who will, choose a way unto his Lord. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
