20 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Pen (Al-Qalam) before The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW)! 1 Keep awake [in prayer] at night, all but a small part 2 For half the night, or reduce some from it. 3 or a little more; and with recitation, recite the Koran. 4 Behold, We shall cast upon thee a weighty word; 5 Lo! the vigil of the night is (a time) when impression is more keen and speech more certain. 6 surely in the day thou hast long business. 7 And remember thou the name of thy Lord, and devote thyself to Him with an exclusive devotion. 8 He is the Lord of the east and the west, there is no deity but Him, so take Him as your Guardian. 9 And bear thou patiently what they say, and forsake them graciously. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the affluent ones who give the lie (to the Truth), and bear with them for a while. 11 for, behold, heavy fetters [await them] with Us, and a blazing fire, 12 And food that chokes, and a painful punishment. 13 On a Day whereon the earth and the mountains shall quake, and the mountains shall become a sand-heap poured forth. 14 Surely We have sent unto you a Messenger as a witness over you, even as We sent to Pharaoh a Messenger, 15 But Pharoah rebelled against the messenger, so We seized him with a strong, crushing grip. 16 Then how can you fear, if you disbelieve, a Day that will make the children white- haired? 17 The Day when the heavens will be rent asunder and God's promise shall be fulfilled. 18 Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way. 19

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
