The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O YOU ENFOLDED in your mantle (of reform), 1 Arise and warn, 2 And thy Lord do thou magnify! 3 purify your garments; 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 it will be a hard day 9 and for the disbelievers, in particular, it will not be at all easy. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 And give him vast riches, 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. 16 Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe. 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 He looked (at others); 21 Then frowned he and scowled. 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 Then he said: naught is this but magic from of old; 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 I shall make him suffer the torment of hell. 26 And what will make you realize what hell is? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen [powers]. 30 We have not appointed any one but angels as keepers of Hell, and their number that We have fixed is to make it a means of contention for disbelievers, so that those who were given the Book may be certain, and the faith of the believers may have greater increase, and the people of the Book and believers may not be deceived, and the sceptics and infidels may say: "What does God mean by this parable?" That is how God leads whosoever He will astray, and guides whosoever He will. None knows the armies of your Lord save Him self. This is no more than reminder for mankind. 31
