The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O, you, wrapped in your cloak, 1 Arise and warn, 2 Proclaim the glory of your Lord; 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 stay away from sins 5 and bestow not favour in order to seek from others a greater return, 6 and for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 It will not be easy for those who deny the truth. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 and children living in his presence, 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 Then looked he, 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 "This is nothing but the word of a human being!" 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 And what could make thee conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It neither leaves, nor spares. 28 and it burns the flesh. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 We have made only angels as the keepers of the fire (for they are the strongest in carrying out Our commands). Our informing (people) of the numbers of these angels is a trial for the disbelievers. It gives more certainty to the people of the Book and strengthens the faith of the believers. The people of the Book and the believers have no doubt about it. We have fixed the number to make the disbelievers and those whose hearts are sick say, "What does God mean by such a parable?" Thus, God guides and causes to go astray whomever He wants. No one knows about the army of your Lord except He Himself. This parable is a reminder for mankind. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
