The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O YOU ENFOLDED in your mantle (of reform), 1 Arise and warn 2 Proclaim the glory of your Lord; 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 And stay away from idols. 5 and bestow not favour in order to seek from others a greater return, 6 but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. 7 When the Trumpet is sounded, 8 It will be a day of distress, 9 for the unbelievers not easy. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 and sons that stand in witness. 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 and who still desires more. 15 Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. 16 I will constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 So let him be cursed! How he plotted! 19 Let him be destroyed. How he calculated! 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 Then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then turned he back, and grew stiff-necked. 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! - 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
