The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O THOU [in thy solitude] enfolded! 1 stand up, deliver your warning, 2 and exalt your Lord, 3 And your garments do purify, 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 and persevere for your Lord's sake. 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 Dolorous for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me with him whom I created alone, 11 And then bestowed upon him ample means, 12 And sons present by his side. 13 and for whom I have smoothed the way (to power and riches), 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give him even more! 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 May he be condemned! 19 May be then be accursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he looked around, 21 Then frowned he and scowled. 22 then he retreated, and waxed proud. 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It spares not, neither leaves alone 28 Darkening and changing the colour of man! 29 over it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
