The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 arise and warn, 2 Proclaim the glory of your Lord; 3 And your garments do purify, 4 And uncleanness do shun, 5 And bestow not favour that thou mayest receive more. 6 But for your Lord be patient. 7 For when the trumpet blows 8 So that is a tough day. 9 Dolorous for the unbelievers. 10 Leave him to Me whom I created alone, 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 And made things easy for them. 14 and who still desires more. 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe. 17 For he thought and he plotted -- 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then he looked round; 21 Then frowned he and scowled. 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 And said: "This is nothing but the magic of old, 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 Soon I will cast him into hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It does not allow to live, and neither leaves [to die,] 28 It glows and burns the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
