No, by the moon! 32 by the retreating night, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 it is a warning to man, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 About the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
