No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it departs, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
