I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
