Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
