Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
