Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
