Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
