Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
