Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
