Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
