Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
