Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a known extent. 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
