Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 until an appointed time? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
