Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 and the severally severing 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 for an appointed term? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
